Coached Swim Workouts
The workouts this fall at RTB have focused on increased endurance and technigue. As the competitive season approaches, more focus will be paid to fitness building and race prep. If swimming is an area of potential improvement for you, these workouts will be perfect. They are similar to a master’s swim workout program without the requirement of a USMS membership (US Masters Swimming) or a Raise the Bar Membership. An RTB membership will save you about 15% though.
If you use up your purchased swims before the session ends and want to continue coming, please do - no pre-approval required. You'll be invoiced for those extra swims at your original per-swim price at the end of the session. Swims don't carry over to the next session - so use them up!
RTB members enjoy a 15% discount on package pricing. A team member who pays $119 for a membership gets that back in as little as 4 sessions. Of course there are many other benefits members enjoy which will you can learn about here. Please consider joining Raise the Bar!
All swims are at the Covington Aquatic Center
Tuesday & Thursday 5:30-6:30AM
Saturdays 6:30-7:30am (2nd Saturdays of the month from 6:00-7:00)
Who can swim ??
These workouts are best suited for athletes who can swim 50 yards or more continuously. If you're there or not far from it, sign up!
What to bring?
Goggles are a must have and most people use a swim cap as well. If you own your own paddles, fins and swim buoy, bring them too - as they are often used in the fall swimming months. Periodically the coach will have you use them during a workout though it's never mandatory to do so. Many swimmers enjoy swimming in Core Shorts. If you need any gear, head to Northwest Tri and Bike in Kent.
Don't Be Afraid!
It can be intimidating to come to a first coached workout if you haven't done one before. Rest assured, you might not find it particularly easy - but you will find friendly swimmers in the same boat as you, and a coach with a knack for getting the best out of every swimmer. Come!!!
