Pre-Race Jitters?: How to get an edge before the gun goes off.

The Pacific Northwest Race Season is just a few weeks away and triathletes are hard at work getting our bodies ready for the effort and excitement of racing.  Because triathletes are both superfit AND supersmart, we know physical preparation isn't the only element that will get us swiftly & happily to the finish line and working on our mental edge is just as beneficial. A big challenge for many of us is the pre-race jitters.   We worry. We have regrets. We tell ourselves we aren’t as ready as the person standing next to us. If we look closely, it’s the past and future that dominate our thoughts in the moments before that big race we've been spending months preparing for. Subsequently, our energy and potentially our performance can be hijacked by things we can’t control.

RTB's Sports Psychologist, Alex Crampton and In-house Professional Triathlete, Kyra Wiens, will be hosting a conversation on exactly this topic at RTB Headquarters (Patty & Bill's house)  Join us for a community potluck, valuable information, discussion, and learn strategies that will improve your mental muscle!

Drinks and a main entree will be provided by RTB.
Salads, Sides, and Snacks much appreciated!!!

Kyra Wiens is a local professional triathlete who also likes to hang out at Northwest Tri and Bike like many of our local age groupers. Her mom purchased her first bike for her in 2012 and she turned pro in 2015 after placing 3rd overall amateur at St George 70.3. You can read more about her here.
