A: Before you start your plan, your coach will meet with you in person to discuss your health & fitness background, race goals and to answer general questions. We’ll gather information necessary to put your individualized training plan together . From that point, most communication is done via email, text, training peaks or by phone. There maybe other times the coach and athlete meet in person if the coach feels it is needed for clear communication.
Q: I know that after the initial consultation, coaching is done online and through phone calls and emails, but can I meet with my coach in person if I need to?
A: Yes, if you need to address an issue in person, or you want your coach to administer a fitness test or coach one of your workouts in person, you can pay for a coaching consult at the rate of $1 per minute (30 minute minimum).
Q: How often may I communicate with my coach?
A: You can communicate with your coach as often and as much as needed. You and your coach will need to determine the best method of communication (email, text, phone). Your coach may answer those emergency type items immediately and store some of the less urgent items and answer them in bulk as needed.
Q: Will my coach correct my technique?
A: In general, since most communication is online or via email/phone/text, your coach will not evaluate and correct your technique. However, your coach is able to answer technique questions and prescribe technique drills. Raise the Bar has swim and run coaches that can help you with technique. Alternatively, you may wish to schedule a coaching consult with an RTB coach regarding your concerns at the rate of $1 per minute (30 minute minimum).
Q: How do I select the right coach?
Read the coaches bio's found at the Individualized Coaching tab. If you're interested in learning more about one or more of the coaches, fill out the contact form next to their bio and they'll be glad to answer your questions or meet so you can get a feel for a coaching relationship with them. Coaching contracts are month-to-month only - if the coach you choose isn't the best fit for some reason, you are more than welcome to try another.
Q: Are there different prices for different distance events?
A: No, your coach will put in lots of time making sure the workouts will help you reach your goals regardless of the race distance. But a long course athlete will most likely pay more then a short course athlete because the coaching fees are charged on a per month basis, and training plans will be longer for the long course athletes.
Q: How does RTB pricing compare to other coaches’ pricing?
A: Raise the Bar believes in providing the best possible service at an affordable rate. We are among the best-valued coaching rates in the Pacific Northwest
Q: How do I sign up?
A: Head to the bios, and reach out to a coach. They'll walk you through the process of signing up when you're ready.
